Ultrasound showed 12 + follicles in ovaries, but blood work came back normal. Do I have PCOS or not? If not, why would I have so many follicles in ovaries? Thanks for you input.

It's called "Pregnancy Miracle" I've read the whole thing (all 250 pages) and there's some great information in there about how to naturally get pregnant without drugs, surgery or any kind of gimmicks. I highly recommend it - it's very honest and straightforward without all the hype and b.s. you see all over the net these days. follicles are what mature to be released during ovulation – your eggs.
if they didn’t tell you that you had cysts on your ovaries and your hormone levels were normal, you don’t have it.
I am 35 and found out when I was 19 I had PCOS, like you, all my blood work is normal. Hormone levels, thyroid and whatever else they look at. On an ultrasound though, there are many follicles. Even though PCOS is caused by a hormonal imbalance, it may not necessarily be strong enough to throw a curve in blood tests. Birth Control is the best option to people with PCOS. I personally have tried everything! Clomid to get pregnant to Depo-prevera to put body into "menopause" state. And the only thing that ever worked was Birth control. Ortho-Tri-Cycline was the best for me personally.
I Hope this helps a little. Good Luck! And if your Dr. tells you its PCOS, its PCOS! A normal woman will only have one or 2 follicles only at the time of ovulation. With PCOS there are many (5 or more in one side or both).
