I would like to know what are the costs for ultrasounds that are required to measure follicles in patients undergoing infertility treatment for pcos. I’m asking coz my insurance might not cover these costs..I live in michigan..if that contributes to the cost factor..

| "Have You Seen Lisa Olson's new Pregnancy System yet? It's called "Pregnancy Miracle" I've read the whole thing (all 250 pages) and there's some great information in there about how to naturally get pregnant without drugs, surgery or any kind of gimmicks. I highly recommend it - it's very honest and straightforward without all the hype and b.s. you see all over the net these days. I’m sure it varies from state to state. I couldn’t find the price for Michigan, but I found that an Ultrasound to evaluate the antral follicle counts and ovarian volumes costs $200.00. That price is from a IVF clinic in Chicago.
You can probably expect to pay close to that amount, give or take($125-250).
If it is deemed medically neccesary, your insurance company will cover it. But it sounds like this is a procedure related to IVF – which in most cases is not covered.
Do you mind if I ask how long you have been trying to conceive? Are you at a healthy weight? The reason I ask is because I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2005. I was told I would NEVER be able to have children. I ended up losing 30lbs and then I became pregnant. I know several women with PCOS who once down to a healthy weight, were able to conceive naturally. Don’t be discouraged. If you ever need to talk you can email me at jennifermarek@rocketmail.com. Good luck to you!
