How many people have PCOS but yet still conceived fairly easily?
Is it a BIG fertility hinderance, or just in some cases? I have regular periods, but have just been told I have the condition. The only problem it gives me is slightly more painful periods than I’m used to. How many of you have successfully conceived with PCOS? I am not trying to conceive right now, but am worried for future reference, as I would be devastated if this meant I couldn’t have children one day.
Thanks in advance!

my wife has pcos. she mis carried twice but were pretty sure it had to do with PAXIL. she started prenatal vitamins and chlomedand we now have 2 awesome kids. our second child was a surprise we werent even trying to conceive. we were in our early 30’s when we had our first. I dont think you should worry. however do alot of research on any prescription drugs you may be taking. this was a big factor in our mis-carriages
i have pcos.., i dont get my periods regulary… but still i concieved… so dont worry.
I did concieve even before I knew I had it. I conceived 6 months after we got married, and my pregnancy was fairly easy.
It really depends on the person.
I think it might be about time to give my son a sibling, so I’m hoping I can give him one.
If not, then it isn’t meant to be.
Actually you are ‘luckier’ than me, I have irregular to no periods at all, so I am not even able to tell if I ovulate or not.
but there’s nothing fun about having a hormonal imbalance.
Email me on my profile if you want to talk.
I have been diagnosed with PCOS and I am currently taking Clomid. I have ovulated for the first time in over a year with the Clomid. Everyone is different and although it may take some time you should still be able to conceive. Best wishes to you in the future! Stay positive whenever you do decide to try to conceive.
It truly depends on the severity of your condition. I have known many women who have conceived after their doctor diagnosed them with polycystic ovary disease ( or more accurately PCOS symptoms). The main determinate is the number and size of cysts present in your ovaries and the damage they have caused. How severe are your current symptoms? Are your periods very erratic, have you experienced acne from the condition, increased body hair growth and unexplained weight gain. These are the signs that your condition is advanced enough to cause serious concerns about your fertility. If your only symptoms are slightly more painful periods I would not be overly concerned at this point, you most likely don’t have PCOS severe enough to greatly affect your hormone cycles yet, but do monitor the condition.

It depends totally on how long you have had it, your symptoms and how far it has progressed. Some women with minimal symptoms have a really tough time conceiving, while others with similar minimal symptoms have no problem at all.
My friend, a vet, could not conceive at all and had to go through injectibles to ovulate. She had twins. While waiting for her RE appointment to try again, she conceived without any assistance at all. Sometimes it’s just getting those hormones right once is all you need.
I have half the symptoms of PCOS. Since I am also pre-diabetic and over 35, my doctor is having me follow some of the suggestions for women who do have PCOS including taking metformin. Also, there is new information about Vitamin D. Have your levels checked especially if you live in the north. Low vitamin D can affect ovulation.
I have PCOS, and fell pregnant on the pill. (Mind you, I did not know I even had PCOS until during pregnancy)
It depends on whether you have poly-cystic ovaries, or whether you have PCOS (poly-cystic ovarian syndrome) there is a pretty big difference between the two, and the extent.
You first need to work out if you are ovulating regularly or not.
PCOS isn’t always a death sentence when it comes to fertility, lots of people fall pregnant easily with it!
i have pcos and was put on a medicine because i was also insuliin resistant. IM not 15 weeks pregnant with baby #3. It happend very quickly for us. Good Luck to you.
