How hard is it to conceive with pcos?

I was diagnosed with pcos in 2005 and I have been trying to conceive but it is really hard when I rarely get my period. Are there any success stories out there??
I have been on metformin for about a year now and i just recently visited a fertility specialist last wed, who put me on provera to induce my period and hopefully i will be taking clomid soon.

I was diagnosed with it when i was 19. I had periods once every 6 months if that and fertility meds didn’t help. I continued to have irregular cycles and gained weight like crazy and just felt horrible. I gave up on ferility treatments and went on a carb restricted diet that research had shown worked with PCOS patients. I got my periods back, lost 50 lbs and felt so much better. I got pregnant. I am now having my 3rd son due in Oct. If I eat breads, pastas, rice, cereal or sweets then i gained weight and my periods get irregular and the cysts start showing up again like crazy but if i watch what i eat i feel so much better.
As with most everything- it depends.
Some people get pregnant with PCOS no problem. Other’s get pregnant only through IVF. Some never get pregnant.

i just got diagnosed with pcos recently and the only reason i know is because i finally went to see a fertility expert after my hubby and i ttc for 2 years with no luck. pcos makes it very difficult to get pregnant so with that said you are gonna need a little bit of help. i am going to be starting metformin and provera soon as my period starts. you may need to talk to your Dr or find a fertility Dr and seek some help. I’m not saying that you won’t be able to get pregnant without them but pcos makes it very very hard and because we don’t know where we are in our cycle it makes it hard to track. there is only a 25% chance every cycle for a pregnancy to happen and this is every woman. those who have regular 28 day cycles still only have that 25% chance so if you don’t know when your ovulating or even about when you are its even harder to determine. as it is its like trying to hit a moving target! i wish you the best of luck. you still have a chance without the help but i have tried for 2 years. and i as well rarely get my period. good luck to you.
