Has any with PCOS used birth control to regulate their so they could get pregnant?
My doctor gave me a blood test cause I would go months without a period. Then she said it looked like I had PCOS and she wanted me to use birth control to make my periods normal and lessen the stress on my ovaries. She said this way I would have less problems when I’m ready to have a baby. Has any one else had to do this and when you stopped birth control did you need another medication to get pregnant.

Birth control doesn’t solve the problem. Doctors like to tell you that using birth control pills when you have pcos will help. This is partly true because you will have a period every month and that’s good as you need to be "cleaned" out regularly. But birth control pills will not help you in the long run if you plan on getting pregnant. This is because you need to ovulate in order to get pregnant and birth control pills definitely will not help with ovulation. Most likely you will need to take other medications like Metformin or Clomid once you start ttc.
well i havent gotten pregnant yet but they gave me metformin for my pcos and they put me on birth control.
Didn’t develop pcos until after having my children.
