I have PCOS, some people have suggested a low GI diet but I have no idea what it is.
I should add that I am not necessarily looking to lose weight on the diet but to use the diet to help relieve some of the symptoms. For example I ate a meat and carb combination last night and I had extreme stomach pain all night like a very nasty form of indigestion.

What is the criteria for PCOS diagnosis?

New to PCOS. Can 1 ovarian cyst be classified as PCOS much less produce symptoms of PCOS? How are cases like this treated especially to restore normal ovulation/menstruation?

Are there alternatives to medication, such as draining of the cysts. Will this method effectively restore normal ovarian function?

I have been ttc for 3-4 yrs now without any success. I was on depo about 7-8 yrs ago, and then on the pill for 1 yr afterwards to regulate my period. Since then I have had a period every 26 days exactly. I have an ultrasound done, and it was said to be normal. I have almost all the symptoms for pcos, except for irregular periods. I can’t find out what is wrong with me. I want a baby really bad. Anyone have any advice or similar problems that they found out what was wrong.

I am 27 and was diagnosed with PCOS about 3 years ago after having my second abdominal surgery to remove cysts off of my ovaries and to remove scar tissue. Now, again, I am having the same symptoms but this time the pain is MUCH worse. Today I had an ultrasound, both external and internal. The pain is now almost unbearable. I don’t have any children of my own yet, but after 11 years of birth control, I don’t want to be on them again. Do I have any other options?
